The Northern Indiana Art & Earth trail is now accepting applications for new partners.
Weckmuller Fine Chocolates, the Blue Pearl Art and Antiques, Lakeland Art Gallery and Purrr-fectly Unique Design Studio and Boutique are the Whitko-area participants, all based in Pierceton.
The trail, launched earlier this year, features more than 150 artists, crafters, agriculture producers, unique accommodations and specialty restaurants in seven northern Indiana counties.
Visitors on the trail experience the talent and cultural diversity found in the region.
The Art & Earth Trail is managed and marketed by the Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission. all trail partners are featured on a Web site and in the guide publicatoin. The trail is also featured in regional and mid-western markets.
Kosciusko Coutny is known as the Lakes Loop and has the second largest continget of artists and agriculture producers on the trail with 27 participants. The other loops are in Porter county - the Indiana Dunes loop; in Laporte County - the Michigan City - LaPorte and Shipshewana loops; south Bend - the Notre Dame Loop; Marshall County - Time to Unwind Loop; and in Elkhart County - the Heritage Trail Loop .
Kosciuisko County artists, ag producers, unique lodging and dninic facilties, farmers' markets and special event coordinators are encouraged to apply. A small group of artists, craftsmen, agricultural tourism and cultural experters in northern Indiana jury potential trail stops.
