NORTH MANCHESTER–- The Peabody Entertainers will present their 2010 show – “Strolling Down Memory Lane” at Peabody Retirement Community on Monday, August 30 at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, August 31 at 2 p.m. Both shows will be held in Peabody’s Chapel, located at 400 West Seventh Street, North Manchester. The shows are free and the open to the public.
The show consists of music from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s such as Peppermint Twist, Rock around the Clock, Chapel of Love and many more. There will be chorus numbers, solo, a Beatle number by the Carolettes, a dance, piano duets, and a comedy routine.
The Peabody Entertainers were organized in 1998 by Carol Davis, a retired music teacher. The group performs in August through December each year. They have performed over 175 shows on the Peabody campus, at community functions, and area organization within a fifty mile radius of North Manchester. Most members are residents of Peabody Retirement Community plus two employees, and four from the community.
Director of the group is Carol Davis, accompanist is Lois Dickinson. The announcers are Wanda Woodward and Joyce Atkins.
Chorus members are Sue Babovec, Madelyn Bechtold, Carolyn Fedewa, Judy Glasgow, Kathryn Huntington, Bernice Mindala, Marsha Mort, Phyllis Penrod, Mary Louise Briner-Reist, Miriam Rusher, Donna Williams, Esther Malott, Rose Mary Storer, Angie Briner, Rosemary Ballinger, and Shirley Williams.
